U.S. Marshals' Biographies

Tyreece L. Miller was sworn in as the United States Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee on July 10, 2020. Marshal Miller is responsible for the management, administration, and direction of operations throughout the district.

Brian D. Harrison was sworn in as the Acting United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas on August 27, 2026, following his designation by the Attorney General of the United States.

Acting United States Marshal Harrison oversees all United States Marshals Service operations in the Western District of Texas, including federal judicial security, court security, fugitive investigations and apprehension, sex offender and missing child investigations, prisoner operations, asset forfeiture, and service of process.

Jose Soto was designated by the Attorney General to serve as the Acting United States Marshal (USM) for the Eastern District of Texas in January 2025.

Sean Anthony Malecha was designated to serve as the Acting United States Marshal (USM) for the Northern District of Texas by Attorney General Pamela Bondi on September 15, 2025.

In February 2020, T. Michael O'Connor was sworn in as the U.S. Marshal of the Southern District of Texas. A fifth-generation South Texas rancher, U.S. Marshal T. Michael O'Connor continues his stewardship in public service and as a businessman.

The Honorable Justin L. Martinez was nominated by President Biden on October 14, 2023, confirmed by the U.S. Senate on June 7, 2023, and sworn-in to serve as the United States Marshal for the District of Utah on June 20, 2023.

Upon the retirement of United States Marshal Bradley LaRose on May 22, 2024, pursuant to the Federal Vacancies Reform Act, Chief Deputy United States Marshal (CDUSM) Hall assumed the role of Acting United States Marshal (AUSM) for the District of Vermont.

Kwesi R. Howard was designated to serve as the Acting United States Marshal (USM) for the District of the Virgin Islands by the Attorney General on February 8, 2023.

Matthew S. Davis was sworn in as the Acting U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Virginia on May 26, 2026, following his designation by the Attorney General of the United States.

Craig Ellis Thayer was sworn-in as the United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Washington on September 7, 2010, the same day he honorably retired as the Sheriff of Stevens County, Washington. As Marshal, Thayer is responsible for leading and directing operations, including security and protection of the United States Courts, criminal investigations, fugitive apprehension, execution of federal court orders and other law enforcement activities in the District.

Donrien Stephens currently serves as the Acting United States Marshal for the Western District of Washington, a position he assumed in July 2023, following his designation by the U.S. Attorney General.

Jack Chambers was sworn in as the U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of West Virginia on August 25, 2026, following his confirmation by the United States Senate.
