Newark, NJ – The U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, in coordination with state and local law enforcement partners from the Hopewell Township Police Department and Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, on Thursday arrested a man wanted for a stabbing incident that occurred on Feb. 25 on Bear Tavern Road in Mercer County.

Nahuan Tejada, 39, was being sought on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and assault by auto after investigators determined he was involved in an altercation in which he’s alleged to have utilized an edged weapon against a male victim.

U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers from the Trenton Division of the NY/NJRFTF located Tejada in a wooded area near the Raritan River in New Brunswick and arrested him without incident.

“Thanks to the swift work by investigators from the Hopewell Township Police Department and Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Tejada was quickly identified as the suspect,” said Nicholas Ricigliano, Acting U.S. Marshal for the District of New Jersey. “Our task force members moved fast to locate and bring Tejada into custody before he could harm anyone else. Let this serve as a reminder that if you commit this kind of violence in our communities, we will find you.”
