Texas Fugitive Apprehended in Buffalo New York

Buffalo, NY – The U.S. Marshals – NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force has apprehended a Texas man wanted for aggravated assault in El Paso, Texas, in December 2025.

Donovan Berry, 18, along with another individual, is accused of shooting a security guard at a bar in El Paso.

In February, the U.S. Marshals Service – NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force received information from the U.S. Marshals Service - Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in El Paso that Berry, who was wanted by the El Paso Police Department for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, had possibly fled to the Buffalo area.

Berry was apprehended without incident at 7 a.m. Tuesday at a residence in Buffalo. He was transported to the Erie County Holding Center to be held as a fugitive from justice.

The U.S. Marshals would like to thank their state and local partners with the New York State Police, Erie County Sheriff’s, Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Buffalo Police Department and Akron Police Department for their efforts in this apprehension.
